We Are Not That Really Smart

What should have taken at least the next 10 to 15 years to become a norm is happening now.

Virtual conversation became a norm in less than one month.

Online consumption became a norm in less than one month.

Working from home became a norm in less than one month.

01:  #SUBTRACTION IS AN #ADDITION

Covid has allowed us to see a new perspective of living by subtracting equations from our “old” way of living.

That subtraction is, in fact, an addition that gives rise to a new formula for living and working.

Hybrid working, which is becoming a norm today, is giving the earth a breathing space and making a shift in climate change.

Due to hybrid working, we have fewer cars on the road, people are getting spread out, and air pollution is reduced.

Perhaps this is the solution, after all, for climate change.

What do we need to subtract from our lives so that it is an addition?

02: WE ARE NOT THAT #SMART

The pandemic will be remembered as a moment when the entire world stopped without a blueprint for action.

We have always prided ourselves as the human species, capable of looking for solutions for all problems until Covid came along.

It disrupted the entire world’s ecosystem, revealing that we are so interdependent on one another.

For the first time, no one knows what we are doing.

Because there is no clue, no blueprint, and no choice.

All we can do is learn from our mistakes.

03: THERE ARE NO BEST PRACTICES BUT ONLY #MISTAKES TO LEARN.

During Covid, there were no best practices, no formulae, and no mistakes to learn from because there was nothing in the book of history.

We are the history.

As a leader, we make history that people either remember or not.

If we only learn about best practices, we can never get the true essence of the lesson.

As a leader, we are the people with the most mistakes.

It is the mistakes that make us human
It is the mistakes that make us humble
It is the mistakes that make us excited.

At #RISEUP, we are more passionate about the mistakes people make because those mistakes allow us to mould and grow.

Making mistakes is the only way to get smarter in the next round.
