I am Joseph,Β the Founder of RISEUP!Β
Here is a short story about me.
In 2019, I came down with a severe infection beyond medical science’s help.
Overnight, the infection left me handicapped as I could not use both my hands.
I lost everything I had built for the past 16 years, and on top of that, I lost my self-identity.
I went into extreme depression and not to mention the mental, emotional and physical trauma it did to me for the past three years.
I finally found my footing and returned to the speaking, training and coaching space I love, only late last year.
Last Friday, on 29 July 2022, I launched our first RISEUP Conference.
I could not have done it without my crew from RISEUP!
But few of the guests knew that my birthday was the day before.
This year’s birthday was significant to me.
28 this year is the day I am REBORN, and 29 is the day I RISEUP!
RISEUP is about SHOWING UP every day.Β
Even during my darkest moment, SHOWING UP was tough.
There are days that I did not SHOW UP because it was not worth showing up.
Sometimes I want to give up, including my life, because that choice was easier than fighting through the suffering.
But I know I need to survive just one more day, every day, 365 days.
Finally, after more than 1000 days of going from hopelessness to hopefulness, giving up to showing up, and from darkness into light.
I am standing back up today with RISEUP as my new identity.
I am not done yet.
It is just a new beginning.
