After a severe infection threw me into total darkness for three full years,
I lost everything I had built over 16 years in the leadership development and speaking space.
When I returned to the speaking scene in early 2022,
I returned with a weak body, nothing much in my bank account, no job, no projects, no momentum, all these on top of the pandemic.
It was a blank canvas that was scary, and the question in my mind was,
๐๐๐๐ง๐ ๐ฟ๐ค ๐ ๐๐ค ๐๐ง๐ค๐ข ๐๐๐ง๐?
And I have every right to call it a day.

The first idea was to launch an event to bring peopleย together, and there was tons of unsureness in me,
After much deliberation, we launched the first RISEUP Conference on 29 July 2022.
+ It was a ๐๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐ฌ idea to launch our first conference in the week Singapore opened up from Covid.
+ I still remember how our guests attended the event with the masks still on throughout the event.
+ And to many who attended, our RISEUP event was their first post-Covid event.
๐ฎ. ๐๐ผ ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ ๐ก๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ง๐ผ ๐ฅ๐๐ป ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ข๐ป๐ฒ?
I was super hesitant.
I thought I was done with the first one. Lolโฆ ๐
But it happened.
We launched our 2nd RISEUP Conference on 28 July 2023, which coincided with my birthday, exactly one year after Singapore walked out from Covid.
Much got to do with the strong positive reviews, encouragement and support from my conference partner, volunteers, clientele and people who showed up.
I knew I had to do this, and I am grateful for the tremendous support.
๐ฏ. ๐๐ป ๐๐ป๐ป๐๐ฎ๐น ๐ฅ๐๐ฆ๐๐จ๐ฃ ๐ ๐๐๐ฒ๐ป๐?
Wellโฆ. People have been asking for the next one in 2024.
It was a humble journey from nearly losing my life, wanting to give it all up, starting with nothing, and slowly building a RISEUP movement,
And we are having a signature RISEUP Conference and movement that brings people together into one space.
I only had an idea and a big one.
And it seems so unreal that I am doing it ๐ก๐ข๐ช.

๐ฅ๐๐ฆ๐๐จ๐ฃ is in the Human Leadership space, and we still have much to do to humanise leadership and the workplace in this brand-new world we live in today.
