K Thiveanathan

Thivi is an HR Practitioner with 30 years of experience. He has held HR leadership roles with reputable multinational companies such as Coca-Cola, UTAC Group, Eli Lilly Pharma, Goodyear Tire Company and Honeywell.

Thivi’s contribution has been well recognized and won several awards, for example, HR Leader Award 2006 (Malaysia), Best HR Leader Award 2011 (finalist, Singapore) and Asia’s Best HR Team Award for Change Management (HRM Asia) in 2017.

Most recently, Thivi was the Global CHRO of UTAC Group of Companies, based in Singapore, as well as a Council Member of the Institute of Adult Learning (SUSS, Singapore).

He has taken an early retirement to experience a slower phase of life while spending some time managing investments made in several start-up companies.

All-rounded, both strategic and hands-on senior HR practitioner with more than 12 years of experience in Southeast Asia & the wider APAC region in HR Business Partnering, Learning and Organisation Development, and Talent Management. Industries include technology start-ups, banking & financial institutions, professional services, IT, and Government.

Expertise in leading M&A, culture & organization change management projects, design & delivery of talent, leadership and learning programs and managing local labour laws and employee / industrial relations in the region.

Accredited by HR national bodies in Singapore (IHRP-SP), Australia (CPHR), Canada (CPHR), UK (MCIPD) and US (SHRM-SCP). Other globally recognised accreditations include ODCP (NTL Institute), PMP and PMP-ACP (PMI), CPLP (ATD), AWI-CH (AWI) and CCMP (ACMP). Graduated with an MSc in I/O Psychology from Baruch College, CUNY and an MBA (Merit) from Strathclyde Business School.

Representative and Master Facilitator for Society of HR Management (SHRM) in South-East Asia, and also part of a team of global content developers, on assignments virtually and onsite in SHRM HQ in Alexandria, VA.

Adjunct lecturer since 2011 at Post Grad Diploma, Diploma and Certificate levels in HR, OD and L&D modules since 2011 at various institutions such as PSB Academy, SUSS, SMU Academy and Singapore HR Institute.

Associate Consultant since 2015, achieving accredited consultant status (Singapore Certified Management Consultant by TUV SUD) with more than 2000 hours of recognized consultancy hours provided to clients in various sectors such as MNCs, SMEs and NPOs.

Supporting his career comes over 20 years of sales & marketing experience in some of the best companies in the world including Apple, DHL Express, Unilever & Lazada/Alibaba.

The wide span of exposure has enabled him to serve effectively from both the business and talent side of the organization across different industries such as e-Commerce, F&B, Media, Technology, FMCG and Logistics.

He has spoken at many conferences and has coached & mentored sales & customer service professionals across Asia, the Middle East, Africa & Latin America. As a result of his demonstration of leadership, the teams he led are highly motivated and have consistently achieved their goals.

Apart from his career achievements, Kelvin has a heart for people, and he wants to make a difference through teaching and mentoring. To ensure that he supports people from a more holistic perspective,

Kelvin has built his capabilities in the areas of family, youth and life coaching as well. He has also established mentoring movements such as Voices Of Asia and Mentoring Alliance. As a result, Kelvin was awarded the Innovator of the Year – No-Profits by the Singapore Business Review Management Excellence Award.
