Die Hard Fan of Care Bear

A Confession: I Am a Die-Hard Fan of Care Bear

Die Hard Fan of Care Bear

I was at Singtel as they celebrate World Mental Health for the whole month of October.

I knew their mascot was Care Bears, and I secretly hoped to see one when I was there.

Guess what?

I saw 4 of them ๐Ÿ™Œ Wishes do come true ๐Ÿ˜˜

Each little bear is skilled in a significant way:

+ Each bear embodies a common human emotion
+ It enables people to relate to one another on that shared feeling.
+ The Bears represent a unique way to tell someone. โ€œI know how you are feelingโ€ฆ I have felt that way before, too.โ€

Being invited as the closing keynote speaker for Singtel’s World Mental Health Month is both a privilege and a responsibility for our RISEUP Movement.

This topic resonated with me dearly after I walked out from the three years of my life’s darkest hours.

Behind every significant movement is a group of Avengers who put their superpower together to make this possible.

These people are super serious about Mental Health ๐Ÿ’ช

When you take a movement seriously, you rally people, activate resources and make a vision a reality.

A huge shout-out to Aileen Tan and her Avengers team, Elouise Chin, Alyssa Than-Stark (MBPsS), and many others who pulled all these together, which is a big feat ๐Ÿš€

And yes!

A big kudos to Kuan Moon Yuen, Group CEO at Singtel, who backs up the team, shows up, walks the ground with the Care Bears, and connects with the people.

^ Mental health is a daily journey, perhaps for some, a daily battle.
^ Mental health is a storm that sometimes we canโ€™t walk away.
^ Mental health is a storm that will teach us more than we know ourselves.

But through the storm, we learned how to be human again.

When you are in a storm, remember to;

# Take care of yourself by putting on the raincoat of support.
# Switching on the torchlight of hope (do reach out for help)
# Look into the storm and say, this is not the end of my story.
